Anything goes / Re: How do we feel about...

mmm, perhaps, a so called "queer friendly" sort of place should be established. like not a totally queer place, coz that will insight ridicule and stuff from heterosexuals, but a queer friendly place, is one where straight poeple can hang out, but be aware that queer people have as much right to be there, itd sort of become a place to hang for GSA's or something, coz like in a gsa structure the idea of straight allies is established, and a queer friendly place is an ideal place to hang with friends, gay or straight and not have to give a shit... anyways thats justa  thought that came to me a moment ago....and with my GSA at school i shall bring it up :) i have a meeting with town council soon...oi oi oi lol stress levels building...

Music, books, movies... / Re: Comic book heros
« on: 14 February, 2006, 09:07:34 pm »
I think...we need to make our own comic...i am over comics nowdays, serious cliche...i mean damsel in distress is so out of fashion....and i believe that there is way to much heterosexual hormones within most comics pages, its like hey! no fair! sure you include gays, but only steeeotypical awfuly tragic ones.... and i cant believe im going to say this...but i am ashamed of them all, all the superheroes, they are spost to make the world a better place, but hey they dont battle homophobia, they dont brave the risiing odds to beat discrimination...jeez how how how how how how...psst whats the word im looking for....stupid! the world is not gonna be a better place, if batman and robin are fighting against things that just would never happen in the world in the firstplace...lol...meh...i hope you get my point...like comics are all well and good, but what are kids learning/gaining from them....that boys should save girls? ha! any girl would tell you "they dont need to be saved" thanks to feminism (WOOT GO THE WOMENS LIB MOVEMENT!!! lol) ....what...boys should wear tight leather latex that shapes their package? not that thats a bad thing, but slightly socially unacceptable...if we wanted fitted clothes, we'd have to retract the former statement of latex is a right not a priveledge so yeah...you do see my point don't you?

AS much as id like to believe it wasn't so....solely homosexual or queer spaces arent helping it at all...where is the tolerance acceptance gonna grow if queers seek sanctuary in prodominately gay destinations. in order for relationships to form that can breach rthe disrcimination and crap, homo and hetero need to 'coexist' not shun or fightr each other....
To bring into this thread something i have read in an article on mogenic.com...
"recently a backlash to homophobia has arisen. They call it heterophobia and its a poor aid to our cause and an excuse for activists to barrage other human beings about their sexualaity. Should we not encourage the behaviour ,rather then condone it by conforming to using its below the belt hurt?..." anyways you get the drift....if we are to expect straights to cope and live their lifes with us and around us, we have to let them be around us, otherwise social isolation of the two, minority and majority, are doomed.... DOOMED I SAY :P

and as for marginilsed...yes it happens, but it happens on all walks of life, the way to beat that is to ignore it and continue our struggles. And who knows maybe one day australia will bne the 'equalitarian' country it trues to put it self forward as. but right now, small steps are needed to learn to walk...

:( damn you! got me thinking of kids again! lol....when i was little i used to imagine growing up to have kids and stuff.....but you know ever since year 3 when my teacher told me a boy and a boy cant have babys....i just cant help but sigh everytime someone brings up the subject....and with the world the way it is today, and gay couples not even allowed to adopt...what hope is there aye? .....i guess id make a pretty shit role model anyways....cry at the drop of the hat or something...*sigh*

Anything goes / Re: Too Sensitive?
« on: 09 September, 2005, 10:07:31 pm »
yea....its not the same all the time, some jokes are offensive others are funny...

i think there are alot of gay jokes, that dont offend that many people because they actually aid people in seeing how stupid the homophobic attitudes are. they also provide as hapgood sed, a more palatablew way to address the issues....
