Love and friendship / Re: how wierd is this?
« on: 27 December, 2005, 11:57:08 pm »
I remember in year 7, my now-girlfriend came out to me. I was already gay.and i remember askingover the phone about how she felt about sex. She sort of said 'um...well...I dont really want the sex...'

I was talking to her about it a few days ago, and it turns out that she was always MORE than okay with the sex, but being in year 7 she was too shy to say it.

Could that be whats happening with your friends? Maybe their just getting used to being gay, and are too shy about the idea of sex...

Two cents,

Anything goes / Re: How do you feel about bein queer

I'm very happy with being lesbian. I come from a network of friends who ALL seem to be gay or bisexual! Seriously, ALL of them. My mum is a really accepting, left wing, down-to-earth kind of person who was only too hapy for me (well...kind of...i told her at an INCREDBLY bad moment about 2 months ago and it hasnt really come up in convosation...but i know she loves me and that she's okay with it...i'm just a little unconfortable to bring it up, and i think she can sense that)

I would never change...I'm happy with my girlfriend and my life. All is good.

Peace,

I can see pros and cons in both situations. I think it is imporatnt to have our own spaces (eg teh Cube) and community (eg Qnet), but I can also see that whilever we identify ourself as diffrent, we will continue to me marginalised to an extent. I suggest a happy medium between the two poles.

My two cents,

Anything goes / Re: Gays In Religion
« on: 27 December, 2005, 09:53:51 pm »
I'm not religious in any way (unless you cound dabbeling into the Wiccan arts a bit), but i appriciate that some people are.

In RE one day my friend brought up this argument (that was knew to me): God made us do to many things, but there were many thing he didnt design us for. That does not mean that these things are wrong, or that we're not meant to do them. For example, God didn't design us to watch TV, but that dosnt mean that watchin TV is wrong. So whois to say that being gay is wrong?

I think there's alot wrong with the way those Catholic American biggots act, not the least of which is descriminating against people in the name of the 'love' that Jesus Christ spreads.

Thanks. Those are my two cents.

Meeting people / Re: The "Hi, my name is..." thread
« on: 27 December, 2005, 09:05:09 pm »
Hi, my name is Emily. I'm 15 years old now. I was born in Sydney, but i moved to canberra when i was about 1 year old. Call me crazy, but I love Canberra so much! I consider it my home town and my haven. I've known i was lesbian since i was about 12. I'm hapilly dating my girlfriend of almost 1 year.

I love music more than anythign else on earth. I don't feel alive unless im listening to music, you know? I love rock music that has a melodious feel to it too, like A Perfect Circle. I love classical and rock, and everything in between. My current obsession is a Dutch Classical Rock band called Within Temptation (go to Raven for a free copy of their single). They sound like a cross between the Goth rock band Nightwish and the beautifuly melodious band Evenescence with their hot, hot lead singer Amy Lee. *drools over keyboard*

I can't think of much else to say...Vanessa Carlton is surley a musical God! I never liked her befre but suddely i cant listen to her enough! Alot of people out there would think of her as a prude and a homophobic, but I think she'smore like Tori Amos. Nuff said.

Okay I am officially rambling now. Im me anytime, and add me to MSN if you wanna chat.

love,
