Amnesty International is the world's largest human rights organisation. In the ACT, our Campaigners and Human Rights Advocates work to defend LGBTQI rights in Australia and overseas. The right to freely determine one's sexual orientation and the right to express it without fear are human rights. We affirm that persecuting or discriminating against people on the basis of their sexuality is a violation of their basic human rights. A large part of our work is with young people and in schools to provide information on queer rights, support, referrals and advocacy.
